July 30, 2020 is the day of national mourning in the Kyrgyz Republic

On July 30, 2020, on the basis of the Decree of the KR President Sooronbai Jeenbekov "On declaring July 30, 2020 as the day of national mourning in the Kyrgyz Republic", a day of mourning will be held throughout the country in memory of the citizens who have become victims of the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic.

Since the announcement of pandemic by WHO, the Kyrgyz people, together with the whole world, are fighting with this serious disease and are going through difficult days.
Since the outbreak of the Coronavirus, the disease has claimed over a thousand lives of Kyrgyzstanis. This is a heavy and irreparable loss for the entire country. People will always keep the memory of the victims of this insidious disease.

The Government is taking all the necessary measures to improve the epidemiological situation in the country, reduce the number of deaths from COVID-19 and pneumonia.
These efforts are supported by entrepreneurs, volunteers, and committed citizens with deep sense of civic commitment. Time has shown that in today's difficult situation, only the unity, harmony and responsibility of the people will be the key to the success of the conducted work.

On the National Day of Mourning, the national flags of the Kyrgyz Republic will be lowered throughout the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as in the buildings of diplomatic and consular missions abroad, and memorial events will be held.
On the basis of the Decree, cultural institutions, TV and radio companies of the republic were asked to suspend entertainment events and programs on the day of mourning.
