In memory of Niyazov Shailoobek Niyazovich

Kyrgyz medicine has suffered a great loss – Niyazov Shailoobek Niyazovich, former Minister of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic, Distinguished physician of the Kyrgyz Republic, passed away on January 8th, 2021, at the age of 75.

 

Niyazov Shailoobek Niyazovich was born on March 15th, 1946, in Ak-Torpok village of Moscow district, Chuy province.

In 1971 graduated from Kyrgyz State Medical Institute.

He began his professional activity in 1972 as a surgery instructor in Mailuu-Suu Medical School. He then became deputy chief physician of outpatient-polyclinic care of Mailuu-Suu Urban Merged Hospital.

From 1980 to 1984 worked as a director of Mailuu-Suu and Kara-Balta Medical School. In 1987 he was nominated to the position of chief physician in Kalininskiy Central District Hospital, in 1991 was appointed head of Chuy Oblast Health Department.

From January 2007 worked as chief physician of the National Hospital under the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic.

From 2005 to 2007 served as the Minister of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic. Afterward, returned to working as chief physician of the National Hospital under the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic.

In his work, Shailoobek Niyazovich prioritized selecting and appointing medical personnel, strengthening their professional capacities, developing material and technical foundations of healthcare organizations, and improving the level of medical care provided to the population.

Niyazov Shailoobek Niyazovich was one of the implementing managers of national programs on reforming the healthcare system – on developing primary healthcare, introducing family medicine, reorganizing and rationalizing inpatient service, changing the system of funding.

For his long, impeccable work in the healthcare system and active participation in public life, in 1983 Niyazov Shailoobek Niyazovich was awarded an “Excellent Worker of Public Health” badge, in 1995 he received the honorary title of a “Distinguished physician of the Kyrgyz Republic.” In 2007 he was awarded a Certificate of Merit of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Niyazov Shailoobek Niyazovich’s services to the healthcare system of the Kyrgyz Republic are of great importance.
