KR Minister of Health, Alymkadyr Beishenaliev, and RAS academician, Gennadiy Onishchenko, discussed cooperation issues regarding joint actions to combat COVID-19

On January 10th, 2021, a working meeting was held at the Ministry of Health between the Minister, Alymkadyr Beishenaliev, and member of State Duma of the RF, Gennadiy Grigoryevich Onishchenko. Gennadiy Onishchenko arrived in Kyrgyzstan as an OSCE observer to monitor the course of the election that took place in the country.

As part of his visit, the leadership of the Ministry of Health of the KR held a working meeting for a broad discussion of cooperation and coordination issues, particularly with regard to joint actions to combat COVID-19.

In the course of the meeting, the Minister of Health of the KR, Alymkadyr Beishenaliev, expressed gratitude to the Russian Federation for its support in fighting the pandemic.

At the meeting, Gennadiy Onishchenko shared the latest information on COVID-19 available in the academic community of the Russian Federation regarding the epidemiological process of coronavirus infections overall and on a global scale. The sides also exchanged information on anti-epidemiological protection of the population against other infectious diseases, relevant issues of the current COVID-19 pandemic, collaboration including vaccine provision, and cooperation prospects in the area of laboratory diagnostics and medicines.

In addition, today Gennadiy Grigoryevich Onishchenko is meeting academic personnel of Kyrgyz State Medical Academy to share his experience with improving the educational process and global trends in anti-epidemiological processes of protecting the population from infectious diseases.
