Russia will provide PCR test system kits for 100 thousand assays and a mobile laboratory to Kyrgyzstan

Today, on February 20th, 2021, the Minister of Health and Social Development of the KR, Alymkadyr Beishenaliev, met with the Head of Rospotrebnadzor, Anna Popova. The meeting took place with the active support of the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Russian Federation.

As a result of the talks, an agreement was reached to provide donor assistance to the Kyrgyz side in the form of PCR test system kits for 100 thousand COVID-19 assays and ELISA tests; moreover, this year, the Kyrgyz Republic will receive an additional autonomous mobile laboratory. Russia will assist with training medical workers of Kyrgyzstan in issues related to epidemiology, diagnostics, and treatment of relevant infectious diseases and will train KR specialists in identifying the British and other new coronavirus strains.

The sides agreed to carry out joint research work with the involvement of academic circles to monitor the epidemiological situation with COVID-19 in the countries.

In addition, the Kyrgyz side requested assistance in obtaining Russian vaccines as well as with mass vaccination of Kyrgyzstani citizens working in Russia. The Minister, Alymkadyr Beishenaliev, thanked the Government of the RF and the head of Rospotrebnadzor, Anna Popova, for their comprehensive support to Kyrgyzstan in combatting COVID-19.
