The USAID’s “Defeat TB” project, jointly with the Ministry of Health of the KR (MoHKR) and the National Phthisiatry Center under the MoHKR (NPC), announced a competition for mass media representatives on the best coverage of tuberculosis-related topics, aimed at reducing stigma and discrimination and improving support to people affected by TB, using positive behavior patterns of people with TB, their relatives, community members, medical workers, representatives of local government bodies. The competition will last from March 1st to September 30th, 2021.
The main aim of the competition is to bring the attention of the general public to pressing issues related to tuberculosis by, first and foremost, creating a favorable information environment:
- to motivate people with possible TB to undergo examination in a timely manner;
- to increase the commitment of TB patients to treatment;
- to change the attitude of the public toward people with TB in order to reduce stigma and discrimination of TB patients and improve support.
