Mentoring visits as part of routine immunization and vaccination against COVID-19

Mentoring visits are taking place throughout Kyrgyzstan with a view to enforcing the Order of the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic №1380 of 01.10.2021 on ensuring safe immunization within the framework of routine immunization and vaccination against COVID-19.
Regular mentoring visits by national, regional, and district specialists to identify problems and take decisions play an important role in improving the professional level of health workers involved in the immunization system.
The aim of mentoring visits is to provide practical help in the field with matters related to safe immunization practices, monitoring side effects after immunization, monitoring temperature regime for storing vaccines in the cold chain, and working with registration and reporting documentation.
During these visits, information from local facilities will be entered into the database developed jointly by experts of the Republican Center for Immunoprophylaxis and the E-Health Center under the MoH KR to track the current situation at the local level with the delivery of safe immunization to citizens. Information on all 1,630 vaccination points in Kyrgyzstan will become available thanks to this database and a specially developed questionnaire on routine immunization and vaccination against COVID-19.
