The Department of Medicines and Medical Products under the Ministry of Health and Social Development of the Kyrgyz Republic issued a registration certificate for the combined vector vaccine against SARS-CoV-2-induced coronavirus infection, Gam-COVID-Vac (“Sputnik V”). Registration of the vaccine in the Kyrgyz Republic makes it possible to shortly begin vaccinating the population for coronavirus infection prophylaxis purposes.
This vaccine was developed by the “N.F. Gamaleya National Research Center of Epidemiology and Microbiology” FSBI and registered in Russia in August 2020. Gam-COVID-Vac is a combined vector vaccine obtained via a biotechnical method without using the pathogenic SARS-CoV-2 virus. The vaccine consists of two components, each of which contains a recombinant adenoviral vector based on the human adenovirus.
