Collaborating with the civil sector, UNICEF helps the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic to fulfill its commitments to empower children, so that they can fully use their rights under the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.
The objective of the UNICEF Country Program for 2018 – 2022 is to make the most disadvantaged children in the country noticed, heard, understood and have their rights protected.
To this end, UNICEF collaborates with government agencies at the national level and in the field. Such collaboration should create the social system, in which services are provided and all children are protected, with a focus on the most vulnerable ones.
The UNICEF program is implemented in the areas where children should be protected by society and the state - in health care, nutrition, early childhood development and education, water supply, sanitation and hygiene, social policy, working with youth, and reducing disaster risks and communications.
In addition, UNICEF works in collaboration with the state and society, providing humanitarian assistance when needed.
